Kelsey Lu
North Carolina-born cellist and vocalist Kelsey Lu recorded her debut EP live at a church in Brooklyn with a loop pedal, and it’s one of the most startling and evocative pieces of music you’ll hear all year. Lu was raised as a Jehovah’s Witness and fled home at 18 to escape her strict upbringing, so her choice of location, the Roman Catholic Church of the Holy Family, is in a way a subverted act of rebellion. A suite of songs that push and pummel gospel music into experimental new places

Incantation (Remastered)
I fell into a hermit state back in 2020 where fear took over my life and traumas resurfaced. This song is in the concept of a spell that is also a transmission from space that came from a distant star, or conciousness... it talks about setting yourself free from traumas and things in your life that no longer resonate to invoke healing, a spell to dismantle the victim mentality, martyrism and to re-become a sovereign human again. It also embodies my inner child who i summoned and healed in their timeline. It has references and melodies from the sounds and music that i loved through out my existence.. This song is a cluster of energy, a timeless piece and a light that i hold dear in my heart. We can do anything if we put our minds to it! more

Voices (Apricity) (Instrumental)
i remember one night i couldn't sleep while out camping with some coworkers in the woods. this image & instrumental cradle vivid emotions. i stayed up 'til sunrise and witnessed a clear, radiant sunrise for the first time. it was such a spiritual experience to witness the sun crawl out the horizon. birds everywhere sung their morning song, a sign to their loved ones they made it through the night. this song is in honor of that moment of awe & Nature. I know you breathe me. In this moment, choirs singing. All harmonies hold you in place. I bleed apricity, I feel you knowing me. Listen, focus, they sing. Listen, focus, they sing. Listen, focus, they sing. Listen, focus, they sing. All the Voices, all resonating. In cranial thoughtways, blending unlanguaged. Quantizing cell mo saics, Polyrhythm ca thedrals.
